The problem is there are two schools of thought. There are a few people who DO blame (or at least complain about) immigrants causing problems and costing jobs.

However, what MOST people complain about (or at least the complaints I hear) have to do with ILLEGAL immigration, and the unwillingness of legal and illegal immigrants to assimilate into American culture.

This both makes sense and is hypocritical. While it is considered inappropriate to join a society and NOT try to assimilate or “blend in” culturally, very few cultures ever have. When the Europeans landed on the continent, they definately didn’t assimilate with indian culture. When the US was established, and the Germans, Irish, Italians, Chinese, etc. came over, each group was sneered at because with them, they brought their own culture to the US.
