Honors Thesis Political Science

without comments

honors thesis political science
How to get a job with very random qualifications? (liberal arts degree)?

I am getting a degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Political Science, with a minor in economics. I am halfway through a 100 page honors thesis on a part of the Chilean welfare system, and I speak Spanish almost fluently. I currently have a job in accounts payable for the university, and I am planning to do an internship in Washington next year.

But all of this experience is random and I need to find a job. Does anyone have advice on how to find a career job with real but very career non-specific qualifications? I do not want to go to grad school yet.

Very few jobs outside the sciences are going to expect you to have a defined career path right out of school. To be honest, your economics focus and accounts payable job probably put you in better shape than most people. Just make sure that your resume and cover letter are written in such a way that you can emphasize different aspects of your experience depending on what the job description calls for.

All Honor to Jefferson?: The Virginia Slavery Debates and the Positive Good Thesis

Calhoun. These debates were to become a bellweather for the union….
